Dr Tao Geng graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and worked as a general physician in Shanghai for 5 years before coming to Australia. She passed her Australian Medical Council (AMC) exams and undertook her internship and resident training in St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. She also had her paediatric training in Canterbury Hospital. Dr Geng completed her GP training in rural NSW towns including Wagga Wagga and Leeton.
Dr Geng enjoys looking after patient’s general health and disease prevention. She is specially interested in paediatrics, skin lesions, women’s health, antenatal shared care and mirena insertion & removal.
In the community, Dr Geng is the Honorary Treasurer of the Australasian Medical Services Coalition (AMSC). With her strong track record of voluntary work in the community, in 2019, Dr Geng was recognized and presented by Mr Mark Coure MP for the St George Community Award in the category of Individual Volunteer Achievement Award. With her exemplary and outstanding service to the organization, she has also been awarded Outstanding Achievement Award of the Australian Chinese Medical Association in 2019.
Dr Geng speaks English and Mandarin as well as Shanghainese.
